Cliff Lightfoot is a Los Angeles native. Most of his professional career has been in southern California. With more than 35 years of experience, his main focus has been corporate finance, investment banking, and public accounting. Capital raised includes debt and equity. He was Client Executive in charge of the Marketing, Economics, and Government consulting practice for one of the BIG 4 accounting firms. Later, he was Manager-in-Charge of the Los Angeles and Western Region consulting practice, for the fifth largest accounting firm, in the world today. There, he established the first financial executive recruiting practice in the firm, and generated the most new client business for the Los Angeles office, in his third year, as a non-partner. Next, he served as Principal Consultant to the Chairman and Chief Executive of the largest commercial bankruptcy/turnaround in U.S. history, at the time. The company was an international conglomerate (retail, distribution, manufacturing and financial services). Assignments included liquidation of a $350million mail order/catalog division, and sale of a $60million agricultural manufacturing division. Concurrently, he started raising funds for start-up companies, and bringing other resources to management, to aid successful launches. He specializes in high quality documentation and presentations to achieve capital raise objectives, and gain creditor committee, supplier and other stakeholder support. He has conducted forensic audits. Also, he was Managing Director of an M&A firm, completing two sell-side sales.
Cliff’s resources network in southern California is extensive. Clients served range from early stage, to middle-market, to Fortune 500 companies. Industry experience includes aerospace/defense contractors and sub-contractors, geo-technical services, healthcare and medical practices, bio-medical products, real estate brokerage, TV/media content providers, Native American Tribes in economic development, vision analysis and measurement, wholesale distribution and supply, manufacturers and distributors of containers and paper products, and all levels and branches of government agencies.
Cliff has served three boards of directors, and was president of the EY Allumni Association , Los Angeles County (14,000 members). He served on the Advisory Board of the South Bay Entrepreneurial Center for five years, and was just named an Advisory Board member for Freedom Farms of America, that serves military veterans and members of native American Tribes, providing housing, work, and income. Cliff received his B.S. degree in Public Administration, with major in urban planning and minor in finance and real estate. He began his MBA at George Washington University, completing an MPA with specialty I statistics and business economics. He completed all studies and preparation for the CPA exam in California.
